Before you jump into any of the opportunities listed below, make sure you understand the risk.
You can find a few clients who need some service and offer it to them for a nominal fee. Some of the services you can offer include housecleaning, errand-running, simple landscaping, and the odd tutoring session. These clients often have a higher income level and want to entrust someone with their property maintenance, i.e., lawn mowing, tree trimming, shopping/restaurant/hospitality, etc. All services should be offered during business hours.
When you decide what to charge, try to charge around 1/3rd of the hourly rate of the job or 1/15th if the job is very small or technical and you only provide these services on your own. Of course, charge as high as you can go, but there is no reason for you to be billing the client for your own transportation or coaching, etc.
When you are looking to find jobs, advertise in the classifieds, local papers, supermarkets, and the internet. The best place to advertise is direct with the clients.
Some jobs are meant to be approached by email. If you do not have an email address, use Hotmail, Yahoo, AOL, Gmail, and other email services to send your job descriptions. You can offer a freebie if they like you enough, and they will email you to request a copy of the final contract.
Many jobs can be done by courier or by phone call. Remember to provide a small "dummy charge" for your car and driver's cost if you must courier or use a phone call instead of an email.
Once you've found a few jobs, start a service business by registering your business name with the state. Then purchase your first van or van, which looks like a van used by a limo company. Most of the time, it will be a large white van or a separate white van that will look like a limousine, and you will be able to operate as a "private driver." Some drivers will have the van painted white to look like a limousine.
When you start your new business, you will need to maintain your vehicles. You will need to pay fleet insurance for the van and your drivers. You will also need to purchase a fleet of vehicles for your chauffeurs.
Also, you will need to contact other drivers that you know and see if they would be willing to chauffeur your clients. I recommend that you not use cell phones, cell phone batteries die so fast, and we never know when we may pick up a call. Therefore, we prefer to pick up calls by voice mail.
